Double blow to Arsenal confirmed as Takehiro Tomiyasu and Mohamed Elneny depart before Liverpool match
Takehiro Tomiyasu and Mohamed Elneny are anticipated to be absent from Arsenal’s FA Cup match against Liverpool this coming weekend.
Elneny has already made the trip to participate in the Africa Cup of Nations, which begins on January 13 with the Egypt team.

This Sunday in Cairo, Egypt will play a friendly match against Tanzania. Elneny is available to play for his country on the same day Arsenal takes on Liverpool at Emirates Stadium in the FA Cup third round.
Tomiyasu is scheduled to depart for the Asian Cup on Friday, so it is likely that he will miss the match against Liverpool as well.
The defender might have been able to travel after playing in the FA Cup, but it is now anticipated that he will depart before then.
Before the Asian Cup begins in Qatar on January 12, Japan will undertake a training camp, with this Saturday’s session scheduled. On Tuesday, they also want to play a friendly match behind closed doors versus Jordan.
Defense-related ailments have already stretched Arsenal’s roster, as Oleksandr Zinchenko’s calf injury kept him out of Sunday’s loss to Fulham. On Monday, he was scheduled to get a scan to determine the complete scope of the issue.
Because of a knee injury sustained in the season’s opening Premier League match, Jurrien Timber is still out, and Thomas Partey, who can also play right back, is out with a thigh ailment.
Partey has not played since October and was not included in Ghana’s AFCON team.
