Nigel Benn has praised Ben Davison for his work with Anthony Joshua as the heavyweight prepares for his fight against Francis Ngannou.
With a crack at the winner of Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk live on May 18, Joshua battles former UFC heavyweight champion Ngannou on March 8 in Saudi Arabia.
Following two losses to Oleksandr Usyk, he has strung together three victories in a row. His most recent victory came in 2023 when he brilliantly stopped Otto Wallin.
He has collaborated with a few new trainers since splitting ways with Rob McCracken, but it appears that Davison is the one he has chosen for now.
Benn complimented the two for Joshua’s recent progress while speaking to Fruity Slots.
“I’m so happy AJ looked like his old self; he went a bit gun-shy,” the man exclaimed. It appears that Ben Davison has extracted it from him. I believe he puts it on him if he fights Usyk in that manner a third time. He would do him if he had the proper mindset and approach.
