Mikel Arteta has assembled a dream five-a-side team consisting of his previous teammates, which includes a controversial villain from Arsenal.
Although the 41-year-old manager of Arsenal’s playing career is not as well-known as it once was, he had successful stints at some of the best teams in Europe, including Rangers, Barcelona, and Paris Saint-Germain.
Eight years ago, Arteta retired from football after leading Arsenal to two FA Cup victories. He then became Pep Guardiola’s assistant at Manchester City.
When asked to select a team of five players, he immediately mentioned Ronaldinho, with whom he shared a football pitch with Arteta, pausing briefly before adding Robin van Persie.
The Dutch striker controversially departed to Manchester United after just one season of playing together at the Emirates.
Arteta stated, “Ronaldinho has to be there.” He was 19 or 20 years old at the time, and I had never seen someone perform the kind of moves with the ball at that speed. I had never seen anything like it.
Without a doubt, Thierry Henry has to be present. Iniesta must be present. Arsenal Since Robin van Persie was at his best when we were teammates, I would rank him there. Pepe Reina will be placed (in goal).
Arteta will undoubtedly wish that Bukayo Saka, the current star player for Arsenal, will eventually be able to stand next to those greats of the game who were all elite players at their best.
The question of whether Saka is deserving of the world-class label has been hotly debated over the past two weeks, with Rio Ferdinand arguing the England international can maintain his present caliber of play for an extended amount of time.
Arteta responded, “At the end is a very consistent player that can win football matches almost on his own,” when asked what he meant by “world-class.”
However, that likely characterizes a world-class offensive player more so than a world-class goalie. However, if there are two or three actions in the game, he can still win it for you.
And it occurs in the Premier League, then in Europe, and finally at the level of the national team. However, the most important thing is that the candidate must be incredibly reliable and able to define a game.
